October 2023 – New Details

This month we have published the second half of our chimney and flue details. This technical set of details explores concentric flue systems for sealed built in gas appliances and concentric flue system chimneys with freestanding wood appliances. The details are shown with both masonry construction and timber frame construction. There are many requirements when it comes to detailing flues and chimneys, and we always recommend consulting the Building Regulations Document Part J and all relevant guidance documents and standards.

This set of chimney and fireplace details consists of:

  • Concentric flue, timber frame, high level section detail, freestanding wood appliance
  • Concentric flue, timber frame, intermediate floor section detail, freestanding wood appliance
  • Concentric flue, timber frame, low level section detail, freestanding wood appliance
  • Concentric flue, timber frame, front elevation detail, freestanding wood appliance
  • Concentric flue, timber frame, low level plan details, freestanding wood appliance
