DL502 – Separating Floor Treatment 2 to Separating Wall

This detail shows the junction between Floor Treatment 2 and Wall Treatment 1 for upgrading existing timber floors and masonry walls through material change of use into dwelling-houses and flats.

Floor Treatment 2 features two layers of board material totalling 25kg/m² on a minimum 25mm resilient layer, with existing timber boarding, 100mm mineral wool insulation, and upgraded ceiling plasterboard. Wall Treatment 1 includes a timber frame with double layer 15mm plasterboard in a minimum 35mm void with mineral wool insulation.

The detail is based on Building Regulations Part E Diagram 4.7 and meets 60 minute fire integrity requirements.
